Responsible Gambling

We want The 44 Club to be fun, fair, and safe for everyone.

Our commitment

The 44 Club is a charity lottery operated by Herefordshire Samaritans. While our lottery is a fun way to support a vital cause, we recognise that gambling can become a problem for some people.

We are committed to promoting responsible play and ensuring that participation in our lottery remains an enjoyable experience. We comply with the Gambling Commission's guidance on responsible gambling and take our duty of care to our players seriously.

How to play responsibly

Simple steps to keep things fun.

Set a budget

Only spend what you can comfortably afford to lose. Never use money needed for essential expenses such as rent, bills, or food.

Don't chase losses

Lottery draws are random. Previous results have no bearing on future outcomes.

Take breaks

If you find yourself thinking about the lottery frequently, consider stepping back for a while.

Keep it fun

Playing should be enjoyable. If it stops being fun, it may be time to stop.

Talk to someone

If you are worried about your gambling habits, speak to a friend, family member, or one of the support services listed below.

Adults only

The 44 Club is only open to players aged 18 and over. We verify the age of all players during registration.

Warning signs

Gambling may be becoming a problem if you recognise any of the following signs in yourself or someone you know.

If any of these feel familiar, please reach out for support. You don't have to deal with it alone.

Spending more money or time on gambling than you can afford

Finding it difficult to manage or stop your gambling

Having arguments with family or friends about money and gambling

Losing interest in your usual activities or hobbies

Always thinking about gambling

Lying about your gambling or hiding it from others
